The promos by Rick Muzzy were most entertaining. I found his "claim" of making "all those songs famous" back in the 70's very interesting - seeing as I was one of the staff working under Pat Martin in 77 & 78.

I did start to puke when his promos talked about ".......buying an 'all new' music library of your favorite oldies...."

I don't have the entire list of stations for Wisconsin but here's what I assume will happen February 17th 2009 for Wausau/Rhinelander. I don't quite understand how this works but this is what I think is going to happen.

WTPX Antigo will stay on channel 46 (have they signed on yet)?

WBIJ Crandon shuts down analog Channel 4 and moves to Digital Channel 12. You can no longer hear Z-104 in about a 3 to 5 mile stretch in Minocqua. Unfortunately the signal is blocked for 90 to 95% of the population base.

I looked on the maps and the new Minocqua translator for WCWL is outside of Z-104's protected area. It is legal and nothing much can be done about it.

So with WFMR gone, anyone want to venture a guess whether another station will add some Classical programming, or even take the plunge completely? A full change doesn't seem likely. Maybe an AM like in Kansas City, but Classical on AM these days just doesn't seem right.
